Empirical Basis for the Conceptual Design

- Not all needs can be verbalized by the users
Providing users with the right features and content plays a vital role in the usefulness of the interactive medium and greatly determines the likelihood of success.
Ideally, a website or app should offer innovative (perhaps even unique) solutions to problems and needs which customers might not even be able to define themselves.
We provide reliable and fact-based input for the conceptual design. In order to identify the wishes and needs of the user, we use a variety of methods:
- Context of use identification by observing users in their natural environment
- Analysis of existing user comments in social networks
- Direct discussions of problems and possible solutions with users (e.g. focus groups, online user surveys or forum discussions in temporary communities)
Additionally, we help to identify and describe prototypical users (so-called personas), typical applications and scenarios (e.g. by use of a special, quantitative user survey analyses). Each target group has different habits and needs.
